The story of Kate's first name. On Dec 12, 2004, I got a call while we were in Disney World that I got a spot in CCAI's single lottery. I was stunned! I asked Grace, then just a month shy of 3 years old, whether she'd like a baby sister from China. She said "Yes and we shall name her Little Octopus!" Not sure where that came from but Little Octopus evolved into Baby Octopus and that's Kate's nickname. We have quite a collection of octopi in her room, most are cute and some are creepy! I guess when we're in China we'll have to figure out how to say Octopus in Chinese!
